Hey! My name is Tyler Dolack – mainly known as – Tyler_TCG. I am a 25 year old streamer from the great state of New York with a passion for both content creation as well as the Yu-GI-Oh Trading Card Game. I have been streaming for about 3 years now.

I am a recent graduate of Western Connecticut University with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Management.

I have been playing Yu-Gi-Oh ever since I was a little kid, at first it was a fun hobby that I had with some friends, but back then, we didn’t really know how to play. As the years went on, I learned about the competitive side of the game. I fell in love with it even more and decided right  then and there I would become the best player I can be. I spent hours on end just sitting with my friends theory crafting new deck ideas and card choices and endless play-testing.  I attended every weekly tournament I could in order to hone my skills against some of the best players in my area. Every loss I faced turned into a learning experience – I would talk to my opponent in order to get a better understanding of what I could have done better.

In 2016, I attended my first regional tournament and it went about how I expected it to as a first time participant. Even though my results were not what I wanted, I did not let this discourage me. This experience fuelled my drive to get invited to the national tournament and show my skills – until 2020 when the pandemic hit, but, luckily there are many online simulators that allow players to play online.  I tested everyday for about 5 hours a day with friends, while also participating in online tournaments, eagerly awaiting the day that in-person tournaments would return. It was then that I discovered live-streaming – this was a way to spread my love for the game while helping people that used to play the game to get back into it. I wanted to be a positive influence to the community while keeping people socially connected through a common love while we were in isolation.

The turning point came with the release announcement of Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel as the new way to play Yu-Gi-Oh.  I was working at the local card shop where I would play weekly. This allowed me to meet new players that I have never seen before walk into the store to start their journey into the game. The most fulfilling aspect of working there was learning that the common thread with us is one game that refueled someone’s passion for the game.

Some of my proudest accomplishments included attending a regional tournament in Edison, New Jersey in late 2022.  After 10 long rounds of playing, I was able to secure 34th place out of 550 people, which earned me an invitation for the National Tournament and to play against the best in the country.  Even though I earned my invite, I knew I could do better, so I kept practicing and improving my game.  I attended a regional tournament in Hartford, Connecticut finishing 12th place out of 350 people.  Currently, my goal is to top nationals and make my way to the world championship.

When I was asked to join RSG, I was over the moon excited because I never thought I would be asked to join this team. My life has changed so much in the past couple of months. At first, I didn’t know what to think, but seeing where I am now, I couldn’t be happier with accomplishments, and am very excited to see where this journey will take me.

If you ever come by my stream, I can promise you that you are in for a great time. I’m either gonna be screaming about how bad I am at Fortnite or you’ll see me laser focused on a Yu-Gi-Oh match. I am extremely high energy and very welcoming. The best thing to ever happen to me since I started streaming the best thing ever to me was making all my friends. I have to give the biggest shoutout to my friend, and someone I see as my mentor, Killem Gillam. She has inspired me to be the best creator I can be and I can not thank her enough. My biggest goal as a content creator is to spread the love of both Yu-Gi-Oh and being able to inspire and help people.

I always say it was a successful day if I am able to cheer them up by just being me – a happy and free spirited person with energy that can make everyone happy.
